Remember the Commonwealth

Don’t skip the absinthe rinse in this cocktail; it adds an introductory herbal note that sets the stage for the strong botanicals to follow.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: 1 Serving(s)
  • Dash of Trinity absinthe
  • 2 ounces Commonwealth gin
  • ¾ ounce Barolo Chinato (vermouth-style fortified wine)
  • ½ ounces Crème de cassis (Langlois Pere et Fils preferred)
  • Orange zest

Instructions

Rinse a martini glass with absinthe. Combine gin, Barolo Chinato, Crème de cassis in mixing glass with ice. Stir well to blend, strain into martini glass and garnish with slice of orange zest.
